Plate lamps ( Thattai lamps ) are unique plate style bowl lamps popular in south India . They are highly revered sacred oil lamps used in religious altars and ceremonies including temple . It takes 8-10 hours to burn the lamp efficiently. In the seasons like Dhanurmasam (Marghazi) people usually get up pearly and finish the Pooja offering soon where the lamps should burn for long hours . This is a perfect oil lamp for such occasions as it is lit for long hours . Sometimes it comes attached to Shanku / Chakra or sometimes plain too. The simple yet elegant design of these lamps makes them outstanding . We have come out in recreating such replicas of unique lamps which are obsolete . We have specially handcrafted these lamps unlike the regularly available glossy brass lamps with a mixture of 5 metals to maintain the quality and match up with old ones which comes with a good gauge and sturdiness so that it lasts for generations to come . It is definitely going to make the worshipper happy 😃
