Mahakali is the fierce Hindu goddess of time, destruction, and empowerment, representing the destructive force necessary for creation and liberation. She is considered the supreme and fiercest form of the divine feminine (Shakti), often depicted with a dark complexion, a garland of skulls, four arms holding weapons and a demon's head, and sometimes dancing on her consort Shiva. She symbolizes the destruction of ignorance and evil, and is also revered in Tantrik cults as the "Mother".
